Despite the severe staffing shortage, President Trump\u2019s soon-to-be-appointed SSA administrator, Frank Bisignano, is expected to push for further massive layoffs through a financial audit.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a breakdown from within and it\u2019s only going to accelerate,\u201d said Senator Angus King. \u201cI have retirees in their 70s and 80s coming to me and they\u2019re scared, and they don\u2019t know what to do.\u201d \u201cThis government is acting unconscionable.\u201d<\/p>\n
